The New Big Wheel

By Christopher Wilde

I have always found Lexus to be a pretentious car.  It's a car that seeks to claim a status that it doesn't deserve.  It's toy luxury at its best, for people who can't afford a Mercedes-Benz, but who need to feel elevated.

If the Lexus, on it's own merits as a machine, was anywhere near as brilliant as this commercial I might aspire to drive one.    This commercial is branding at its best.

The next commercial is targeted to women.  Apparently spoiled, snobby, brat women that make my stomach turn but hey it's who Lexus likes.

Here's one commemorating the Atari 2600.

Apparently these commercials are the creation of Madsen Consulting of the UK.
